*Tent on Wheels at DISNEY* Hollywood Studios Day 2

When I texted our vacation planner, Heather, that I was considering dropping our second day at Hollywood Studios to go to a different park, she immediately encouraged me not to - that HS was her favorite, and there were so many things to do beyond just the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge that we had done on our first day

Within minutes she had send me an email-length text with all her favorite things to do at Hollywood that we may have missed.

Ok, Heather, #challengeaccepted!

We had a lite brunch in the camper before heading to the park, with the plan to do some snacking in the afternoon but wanting to at least have something semi-healthy in our bellies before we started out (Lox counts as healthy, right? I mean, it's fish, isn't it?!). With that, we didn't get to the park will early afternoon.

Our first goal was to grab a snack to finish off our 'lunch' for the day, so we headed over to FairFax Fare near the Tower of Terror and grabbed a few hots dogs and the 50th Anniversary Shimmer and Glimmer Blondie.  And may I introduce you to trashcan table top dining at Disney!  We found, a few times over our several park days, that its difficult to secure a table to sit at, so, placing your tray on the top of a trashcan puts it at perfect bar height to stand and eat. Perhaps not the most magical thing, but, we weren't the only ones doing it.

Heather had suggested the blondie - and wow, it was 1) HUGE and 2) really good coconut and toffee and tasty!  It's definitely big enough to share, and be sure to spread the icing around - it's a sweet and salty treat that is soo good!

From there we stepped into one of the things we missed that I wanted to catch this time at HS: Walt Disney Presents, which is a self paced museum and showcase for future Disney films.

It's so neat to see the vision of one man and his dream, that started with 'a mouse,' turn into a conglomerate business that brings joy and fun to so many many families over the years.

The capstone of this walk thru museum was the opportunity to preview an upcoming release (probably neater when the release isn't out the month that you're previewing it!)  Turning Red looks like it's going to be a really fun coming-of-age movie!

We wandered over towards Toy Story Land and grabbed a few PhotoPass photos and then stood in line for Toy Story Mania.  The Disney App had the wait-time at 65 minutes, and RDB timed us: 45 minutes and we were in the ride.  Honestly, though, these newer rides have really made it a point to make the cues something to enjoy - just check out all the things to play "I Spy" with!  About mid-way thru I realized, these 'show rooms' were meant to make you feel like you were one of the toys in Andy's toy box.

This was another one of the interactive "shoot the target" games like we saw at Universal Studios Men In Black. And I'm not going to say who had the better score (me!) but we both really enjoyed this game!

We walked over towards the Mickey & Minnie Vacation Fun movie (there was a theme for today - easy stuff, no major rollercoasters, lots of sit and enjoy shows).  I couldn't help but notice the 'camping' photo from their vacations lined up outside the theatre:

Too cute!

One last show in Hollywood Studios, we walked over to the Muppets area and sat down for Muppet Vision 3D.

It was fun to have both the movie screen and live puppets as a part of the experience!  If you're in need a a mid-day break, or just a fun time in sitting down enjoying the classic Muppets capers, this is the show for you!

There's plenty more to do at Hollywood Studios - especially if you're a roller coaster kinda person (which, at this point, we really aren't) so instead we decided to jump on the Skyliner and treat it like it's own 'ride' by traveling down to the resorts that are connected to the transit system.

In fact, this is totally something you could do on your rest days, riding the Skyliner to resorts for dinning and exploring.  There's a lot to see - you've got to check out Art Of Animation at least once!

We ended the day with a bus ride back over to the Fort, and watching a few movies in the camper while I got caught up on blogging.

Was it a full-on run-run-run kinda park day? No.  But was it just the right amount of a few additional favorites? Absolutely!  If you're lucky enough to have a great vacation planner like Heather, you can always reach out for the 'favs list' and have a magical itinerary of fun things to do!
